WHO ARE THE FRIENDS?The Friends of the Playhouse is an independent organisation. It was formed in 1990 to support the efforts of the Playhouse Trustees in establishing the Playhouse as a major centre for all aspects of the Arts. The Playhouse has been an enormous success, and the 'Friends have played an important role in its growth and development. There are now over 2000 members and thousands of pounds have been raised to help equip the Theatre. Every penny raised has been spent on equipment and fittings to improve the quality of performances and the comfort of audiences. The 'Friends' also act as volunteer stewards and bar helpers. If you join and would like to get involved in any way, simply leave your name at the box office and say when you're available to help. There's no obligation to help if you don't want to - you can be a real supporter simply by becoming a member.
