Alnwick Playhouse Community ChoirThe emphasis is very much on fun and informality as the choir is deliberately designed for singers of all ages, shapes and experience. Everyone is made very welcome - whether you are an experienced singer or have never sung in public before. Led by Peter Brown, the choir rehearses every Monday night in the ground floor studio space. The choir's repertoire is deliberately very broad - taking in traditional ballads, gospel, show tunes and classical pieces. The choir was launched in April 2004 and quickly attracted fifty regular members. There's still plenty of space for new recruits and the only requirement is enthusiasm and an enjoyment of singing. The group performs at various venues throughout the District. The choir runs for three terms per year and enrolment in advance through the Box Office is strongly advised. Alternatively, you can simply turn up at your first rehearsal and have a sing to see if you enjoy it before deciding whether to join.
