Cast & Creatives

2019-20 Season

Alnwick Music Society is delighted to be back at the Playhouse for the remaining five concerts in our 2019-20 season.

Musical highlights include Schubert’s ‘Death and the Maiden’ Quartet, Shostakovich’s 2nd Piano Trio and Franck’s Violin Sonata, as well as works by Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Haydn, Scarlatti, Prokofiev,  Fauré and Mendelssohn, to name but a few.

There are two wonderful pianists. I have heard Dinara Klinton twice and have been impressed on both occasions. Born in the Ukraine but living in the UK, she was a pianist in this year’s Leeds Piano Competition. Alasdair Beatson has a growing reputation as a soloist and accompanist. He has been a regular performer with the Royal Northern Sinfonia this season, playing with the orchestra but also in chamber recitals.

We also have a quality young Piano Trio, the Busch Trio, who were top class when they came to Morpeth.

The excellent Sacconi Quartet, who have been together as a group since 2001, will play music by Rachmaninov, Mendelssohn and Schubert.

We are also thrilled to have a brilliant string player, Lawrence Power, who will play the violin as well as the viola in a programme of romantic music, accompanied by Simon Crawford-Phillips.

Mike Alexander, Chairman of Alnwick Music Society
