Compiled from letters and diaries

by Tim Coates

In 1829, Vincent Novello, the music publisher from London, visited and spent time with Constanze Mozart in Salzburg and found her to be "one of the most interesting persons now in existence"

In this magic evening of words and glorious music by WA, Constanze tells her own story. A brilliant soprano and supportive, beloved wife of Mozart and mother of his children, we at last hear her side of events in the life and death of one of the greatest musicians who ever lived.

The music brings to life the arias and songs they once shared. From iconic operatic pieces, including Dove sono, Porgi amor, and Ach, ich fühl's to tender and personal  art songs such as An Chloe, Abendempfindung, and Als Luise die Briefe. These, along with numerous other fragments and melodies, celebrate the enduring legacy of her beloved Wolfgang

It was such a pleasure and indeed privilege to be at Constanze’s first public outing. It all flowed so well, and the balance of music to words was spot on. Jane Asher was gloriously believable as the lady herself and her musical colleagues were wonderful too.

Congratulations to Jane Asher and her musicians for bringing us the real Constanze. With readings from her letters, as well as addressing us directly, Jane brings to life a loving and supportive wife. So good, at last, to see Constanze Mozart as she really was
