Who are we?

The Playhouse Youth Theatre is for children age 7-16 years old living in Northumberland.

We are an open access group which means no auditions to join and no previous experience is required, just enthusiasm, commitment, creativity and a willingness to have a go!

We divide into groups following key stage and school year groups.

Our staff create a fun, supportive and encouraging environment for our members to explore drama, build confidence and develop their communication and theatre skills.

Is there a cost?

Yes, each term has a fee and special projects or events will have individual fees.

However we also offer bursary places at 50%-75% reduction depending on the family household income. Each family who applies for the bursary is individually assessed by our team and all payment programmes are confidential.

Act 1 – Full price £60 per term

Act 2/ Act 3/ Act 4/ – Full price £85 per term

Do I need to bring anything with me?

You need to bring along something to drink to keep hydrated and you should wear comfortable clothing suitable for a drama session. When we are working on text – you will need to bring your script and a pencil.

What if I don't know anyone there?

We run taster workshops at the start of Autumn Term in September so that children can come down and meet other new members. All of our members are really friendly and welcoming, we have an introductory session at the start of each new term where we play fun drama games, learn each other’s names and get to know each other.
